38 students from Kasturba Gandhi Awasiya Balik Vidyalaya in Hardoi complained of nausea and stomachache after attending a medical camp on Sunday.

The girls went to the Pihani Community Health Center (CHC) health camp. As soon as they returned, they started feeling nauseous and complained of stomach pains. They complained that they were given the wrong medicine at the hospital.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Swati Shukla told the media that “32 children are doing well after treatment and have been sent back. And the remaining six children were transferred to a civilian hospital for treatment.”

SDM Shukla also said that the whole matter is under control and the exact cause of the incident will be investigated.

“We will investigate what caused it, whether it was due to food poisoning or it was due to medication,” said SDM Shukla.
