Bruno (Secret Story) cancels his participation in the Paralympic Games

The guide for the world champion and Olympic silver medalist in para-athletics made an appearance on the 12th season of “Secret Story” on TF1 this year.

On April 26, during the twelfth season of Secret Story on TF1, Bruno Naprix was eliminated by the residents of the Maison des Secrets after just three days in the game. His secret was then revealed: “I am an athlete in the next Games.” Bruno had been selected to be the guide for visually impaired sprinter Timothée Adolphe during the athletics events at the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympic Games.

A Stellar Track Record in Para-Sports

Unfortunately, this secret is no longer valid. After achieving remarkable success with his athlete, including winning French, European, and World Paralympic Championships, and securing a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics in the 100 meters, Bruno Naprix shared devastating news with his followers on Instagram on Sunday, July 28.

Why Bruno is Withdrawing from the Paris Paralympic Games

“It is with great sadness that I announce my withdrawal from the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Many may wonder why, but without going into detail, the lack of respect and consideration I encountered had no place. Therefore, I am stepping down from this role as a guide, but I do so with my head held high. I gave my life, my body, and my heart to this sport. What I’ve achieved in my high-level career surpasses my wildest dreams. I’ve had incredible experiences both in able-bodied competitions and as a Paralympic guide. It’s been a journey of highs and lows that have shaped the athlete and the man I am today,” wrote Bruno, who also works as a flight attendant in addition to being a runner.

Support from Christophe Beaugrand

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all this, it’s that I have no regrets, and I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished! I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone I’ve met along the way: opponents, coaches, judges… Thank you! I apologize to my family, friends, loved ones, and all of you who were looking forward to this great event. Enjoy this unique occasion that we’re fortunate to experience, especially in Paris. Best of luck to France Paralympique,” Bruno wrote in his heartfelt message.

In the comments, Secret Story host Christophe Beaugrand responded with words of support: “We are proud of you, no matter what. And we know that you are a champion.”
