We, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom, and the High Representative of the European Union, condemn plus vifs le nouveau tir de missile ballistice de portée intercontinentale effected le 16 mars par la Corée du Nord, qui met en péril la paix et la sécurité régionales et internationales.
Depuis l’année dernière, la Corée du Nord has intensified its actions participating in the escalation by firing a record number of ballistic missiles and en pursuing its irresponsible and destabilizing discourse on the use of nuclear weapons. Plus tôt dans l’année, la Corée du Nord publicly declared its intention to expand and reinforce its illicit nuclear and ballistic programs.
We call again on North Korea to give up its existing nuclear weapons and nuclear programs, as well as other weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missile programs in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner, and to fully respect the whole des obligations découlant des résolutions pertinentes du Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies (CSNU). La Corée du Nord cannot obtain and will never obtain the status of a state with nuclear weapons, in accordance with the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons. We urge North Korea to engage on the path of real diplomacy in favor of denuclearization and to accept the dialogue proposals presented several times by Japan, the United States and the Republic of Korea.
Nous regrettons vivement le contracte saississant entre la fréquence des functions flagrantes des résolutions du CSNU et l’inaction correctante du CSNU à cause de l’obstruction de certains membres. The irresponsible behavior of North Korea requires a rapid and united response from the international community, notably the adoption of new strong measures by the CSNU. We appeal to all the States members of the United Nations to implement fully and effectively the set of resolutions of the CSNU, and the members of the CSNU to hold their own engagements.
The G7 remains concerned about the catastrophic humanitarian situation in North Korea and is determined to work with all the partners concerned to realize the goal of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and to defend the international order based on the rules of the right
