The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to introduce a general entrance test (CUET) for graduate students also from this year, Chairman Jagades Kumar said on Thursday.
The decision was made a few weeks after the head of the UGC announced that CUET scores, rather than 12th grade scores, would be required for admission to 45 central universities and that central universities could set their minimum eligibility criteria.
“CUET for admission to PG will also be introduced from the 2022 training session. The exam will be held in the third week of July, and the application process will start today and end on June 18, ”Kumar told PTI.
“The exam will be conducted in English and Hindi in Computer Based Test (CBT),” he added. More than 10.46 thousand candidates registered in CUET-UG. The deadline for registration at CUET-UG is May 22.
