Public universities should focus on research projects that can set a global benchmark of excellence and provide solutions to society’s pressing problems, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday. He also added that the government will also create an integrated mechanism to help public universities collaborate with each other on projects of interest. The remarks were made during the interaction with the vice-rectors of the state universities of the republic.

“For many years, public universities have worked hard to reach greater heights as institutions. But now they need to focus on research projects that could become a milestone for the world’s universities. According to him, public universities work as a long-term arm of the state government, conducting research and generating reports from time to time. “It has helped the government make many people-oriented decisions. But now they need to think about bigger problems around the world and conduct innovative research on them, ”he added.

During the review meeting, the vice-rectors presented their scientific works and informed the Deputy Chief Minister about international cooperation.
