The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has partnered with Garuda Aerospace and AGROB to jointly meet the growing demand for drone pilots of Indigenous peoples of India. As part of this cooperation, the goal is to produce by the end of 2023 by the end of 2023 drones “Make in India” to one lakh.

Joint research will be conducted in software, robotics, digital solutions, training drone pilots, demonstrations, other related fields in artificial intelligence solutions and initiating joint (pilot) projects, according to a press release from the institutes. Students of the institute will be involved in the development of hardware and drone flight strategies.

Professor Ajit K. Chaturvedi, Director of IIT Roorkee, stressed: “This partnership will promote the joint development of Make in India drones by providing innovative solutions. IIT Roorkee will focus on application-based solutions such as artificial intelligence-based monitoring, and will be involved in providing customized solutions for drones. Students will be involved in developing drone hardware and flight strategies. ”

Speaking about the partnership, Professor Dharmendra Singh, Coordinator of the Drone Research Center, IIT Roorkee, said: “Our goal is to develop the drone ecosystem through partnerships in the industry and provide additional research contributions. In collaboration, we will develop futuristic drones with artificial intelligence, train farmers and AgriTech service providers and prepare them for the future. In addition, there are educational road shows and air shows with drones and surveillance technology.
