Previously, the FAC raised the minimum age criteria for admission to 1st grade from 5 to 6 years. The Supreme Court upheld the decision of the Delhi High Court to reject motions challenging the KVS age criteria. According to the latest admission rules, on March 31, 2022, a 1st grade student must be at least 6 years old and no more than 8 years old.
In addition, this year the government abolished the quota of deputies to join the FAC. The quota for the Ministry of Education has also been abolished, instead there will be places for children left orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic, but the places will be freelance.
