The popularity rating of Emmanuel Macron and that of Elisabeth Borne rebounded after the battle around the reform of the retreats which had plunged the executive, indicates a BVA poll for RTL publié vendredi.

Le chef de l’Etat regagne 6 points avec 32% des Français ayant une “bonne opinion” de lui, indique l’institut selon qui Emmanuel Macron “sort du creux de la vague dans lequel il était après la séquence retraits” qui avait fait plonger sa popularity à son niveau de fin 2018. La Première ministre Elisabeth Borne prend quant à elle ciq points, à 32%, selon ce baromètre.

L’immigration au 6e rang des priorités des Français

Les sondés ont également été interrogés sur l’immigration, au coeur d’un projet de loi attendu d’ici l’été malgré les revirements de l’executif. 69% of the French people questioned say they are “preoccupied” by immigration even if the subject does not reach the sixth rank of their priorities (24%), far behind the purchasing power (56%), health (38 %) and security (32%).

Les deux tiers (67%) consider that there is “trop ​​d’immigrés” in France and 43% seulement que l’immigration est “une chance pour la France”.
Ils reconnaissent nevertheless majorityitairement (60%) that “les immigrés are victims of discrimination”.

Favorables à un référendum

Alors que Les Républicains lancent une offensive sur le sujet, 73% of the polls say they are in favor of “organizing a referendum” and 66% wish to “harden the conditions of family regroupment”. But 68% say they are also favorable, as the government wants, to “regularise the workers without papers” in the sectors in tension.

The polls consider with skepticism the politicians responsible for immigration: the RN is the party that raises the most confidence (36%), followed by the LR (30%) and the government (28%).
