The West Bengal Central School Services Commission (WBCSSC) announced on Thursday that the process of recruiting assistant teachers and principals to public high schools and colleges will begin soon.

In an official statement, the commission noted that it will soon issue an advertisement for the position of principal in secondary, higher secondary and junior schools, and all relevant details regarding the selection process will be provided in a brochure accompanied by advertisements.

The Bass Brothers, the Minister of Education of West Bengal, recently stated that the government is in favor of rapid monitoring of teacher appointments and is aware of the plight of hundreds of educated youth awaiting admission to public schools.

He further added that due to court cases, the government was unable to fully conduct the recruitment process. A spokesman for the school education department said the WBCSSC had recently tried to find out about the number of vacant teaching positions in schools from the West Bengal Secondary Education Council.
