Mme Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, State Secretary of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Commissioner for Development, Francophonie and International Partners, arrived in Dakar on October 24, 26, 2022.
She will participate in the 8th edition of the Dakar International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa around the theme “Africa in the test of exogenous shocks: challenges of stability and sovereignty”. She will recall in this case the importance of the Euro-African partnership to relieve the challenges of security and development in Africa. It will also emphasize the pursuit of French engagement in the Sahel, in support of the regional states, on the continuum from defense to development.
This move will also bring about all of our partnerships and cooperations in the health, youth, training, sport and energy sectors. A Franco-Senegalese bilateral sequence is planned around emblematic projects such as the Franco-Senegalese Campus, the Institut Pasteur vaccinopôle project, as well as partnerships in the perspective of the 2024 Olympic Games and the Dakar Olympic Games in 2026. The Secretary of State will also address the issues of energy conversion in Senegal in the run-up to COP27, which will be held in Charm el-Cheikh.
The Secretary of State will meet with President Macky Sall and several members of the Senegalese government.
